Special trains alert: 5 great updates to end January 2021!
After a spate of train cancellations, the last week of January seems to signal towards better days.
The Indian Railways has announced new passenger trains on high-rush routes, and has also extended a few popular services.

Central Railway launches additional trains
> An extra service will begin from February between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Mumbai) and Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus (Kolhapur).

> Another service will begin on January 31, and will connect Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai) to Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh. More details here:

Kalinga Utkal Festival Special announced
Train 08477 will leave Puri at 8.45 pm from January 27 to April 30, while train 08478 in the return direction will leave Rishikesh at 5.35 am from January 30 to May 3. The East Coast Railway will run this train to help pilgrims travelling for the Kumbh Mela.

Uttar Pradesh’s Mau gets train to Delhi
An industrial town, Mau (or Maunath Bhanjan) has received a new train to Delhi’s Anand Vihar Terminus. It will operate twice a week:
> Train no. 05025 (Mau–Anand Vihar Terminus) will run every Sunday and Tuesday.
> Train no. 05026 (Anand Vihar Terminus–Mau) will run every Monday and Friday.
Krishna Special to begin operations
A daily express special service between Tirupati and Adilabad starts this week. Train no. 07405 will depart from Tirupati to Adilabad starting January 27, whereas train no. 07406 will return from Adilabad to Tirupati from January 28. See timings and halts here:

CSMT–Madgaon Daily Festival Special extended
Though the extension applies from April, bookings for the busy Mumbai–Madgaon route have already begun. Four trains will be extended, and you can see dates and timings here:
