With an aim to make the train journey more interesting, Indian Railways restored Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express Special Train starting 26th June with a twist.

Passengers can now enjoy the panoramic view of the Western Ghats through the new Vistadome coach.

What is a Vistadome coach?

Vistadome coaches are European-style coaches equipped with advanced features such as large glass windows, glass panels on the roof and rotatable seats which can rotate up to 180 degrees.

What to see?

Passengers travelling to Pune will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of Matheran Hill (near Neral), Songir Hill (near Palasdhari), Ulhas River (near Jambrung), Ulhas Valley, areas of Khandala, Lonavala and the waterfalls, tunnels on the southeast ghat section from the Vistadome coach.

Taking to Twitter, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal shared the pictures of new Vistadome coach:

Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai via Vistadome: Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Western Ghats with the first ever Vistadome coach on this route.
