Lockdown Extended in Maharashtra, Jharkhand; More States Change Guidelines

Indian states continue to take stringent measures to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 in the country. 

A few states, including Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Gujarat, have extended their existing night curfews and lockdowns, while a few others, including Assam and Telangana have imposed new restrictions.

Please note: Despite the changing guidelines, air and rail travel remains unaffected and passengers can continue to travel to/from airports and railway stations with a valid boarding pass or train ticket. However, it is advisable that you check the latest state-wise guidelines before travelling.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra has extended the lockdown-like curbs currently in place in the state till 7 am on June 1. 


The new order highlights that all travellers entering the state by any mode of transport will be required to carry a RT-PCR negative report (issued within 48 hours of entry into Maharashtra). Along with this,
the additional guidelines placed earlier on travellers coming from places of ‘Sensitive Origins’ will now be applicable on all travellers. Check the complete order below: 


Telangana

The Telangana government has placed a ten-day lockdown in the state, which has come into effect from May 12. In an official update posted on Twitter, it has been stated that the lockdown will have daily relaxations between 6 am and 10 am:
