Latest Travel Guidelines for 5 Indian Destinations
Amid the recent spike in COVID cases, the travel rules for many Indian destinations are constantly changing.
To avoid any confusion and hassle while travelling, here are the updated guidelines for Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Jammu & Kashmir
Domestic travellers will have to undergo RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen Test on arrival at the Srinagar Airport.
Following category of passengers are exempted from the test –
- Double dose vaccinated passengers carrying valid and verifiable final certificate
- Passengers carrying negative RTPCR report with scannable QR Code of 72 hours duration
Passengers with a history of international travel will have to undergo a mandatory RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen test. They will have to stay in quarantine till the results are declared i.e. for about 36 hours.

Uttar Pradesh
Travellers at airports, railway stations and bus stations will undergo screening, Rapid Antigen Test and even RT-PCR tests, if necessary.
All government and private offices are allowed to operate with a 50% staff presence.
Employees working in private offices who are found to be positive will be paid a seven-day salary to avoid any financial crisis.

Maharashtra
Passengers travelling to Maharashtra should either be fully vaccinated or carry a negative RT-PCR report not older than 72 hours on arrival. This rule is applicable for air, train as well as road passengers.
Maharashtra has imposed a curfew from 11 pm to 5 am, except for essential purposes. The state has restricted movement in groups of five or more from 5 am to 11 pm.
Shopping malls/market complexes are allowed to function with 50% capacity and only fully vaccinated people will be allowed inside. These complexes need to remain closed from 10 pm to 8 am.

Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu has announced a complete lockdown on Sundays until 31st January. The state will observe one on 16th January this weekend, during which only essential services will be allowed.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands
All passengers aged 2 years and above arriving at VSI and Port Blair Airport have to carry a negative RT-PCR report not older than 48 hours on arrival. This rule is applicable irrespective of the passengers’ vaccination status.
Travellers with a history of foreign travel in the last 30 days, unvaccinated and partially vaccinated passengers have to undergo an RT-PCR test at the airports. They will have to isolate themselves till the results are declared.
Social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious, festivals related and other gatherings/congregations are prohibited in South Andaman with effect from 11th January.
All tourist spots, parks, stadiums, playgrounds and gyms are closed in the district.
Any person violating these directions is liable to pay a sum of Rs.20000 to the management.
