IRCTC to Resume E-Catering Services; See Details
Good news for train travellers!
As per the latest press release, the Ministry of Railways has allowed the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to resume e-catering services at select railway stations across the country.
However, the resumption of this much-needed service will be subject to compliance of the health and safety guidelines issued by the central as well as the respective state governments.

The e-catering service by IRCTC provides hot, hygienic and healthy food to passengers in the train itself.
It must be noted that the service had been suspended by the national transporter as a precautionary measure against COVID-19. However, with the resumption of special trains, there was a growing demand from the passengers to resume the e-catering service.
Now, the IRCTC will resume e-catering in a phased manner, after reviewing the local restrictions, availability of staff, etc. The latest update, confirming that IRCTC will soon be publishing a list of stations with this service, was posted on the official Twitter handle of the Indian Railways Seva:

In line with the above developments, the Eastern Railway has announced that catering services will be starting soon at seven stations under its jurisdiction. These are Howrah, Sealdah, Kolkata, Durgapur, Asansol, Malda and Bhagalpur railway stations.
