200 Railway Projects Completed During Lockdown
Indian Railways completed over 200 pending maintenance works during the COVID-19 lockdown. This includes repair work, yard remodelling, dismantling and rebuilding of old bridges, construction and strengthening of the new foot over bridges, doubling and electrification of rail lines and renewal of scissor crossovers.
Some of the projects were pending for several years. The national transporter was unable to complete them due to the high traffic of trains.
